Our Mission

The Teddy Bear Hospital is a volunteer project that aims to reach children early to relieve their fear of going to the doctor or hospital, medical staff and examinations. Because here the cuddly toys and not the children are treated. In this way, the children experience a doctor-patient situation as a “friend” of their fluffy darlings without being affected themselves.

Why a cuddly toy?
The cuddly toy, here the teddy bear, is a symbol of an important companion, a neutral conversation partner and at the same time a special friend who you can confide in, talk to about anything and who helps you to process certain situations.

The History

The internationally themed project originated in Scandinavia in the 1990s, from where it quickly spread worldwide.
